
On October 5, 2024, we organised the 1st National Conference for Simulated Patients together with the Medical Simulation Centre of the Medical University of Warsaw, the Centre for Innovative Medical Education at the Jagiellonian University Medical College, the K. Marcinkowski Medical University in Poznan, and the Medical University of Lublin. More information can be found here.

The conference series ‘Communication in Medicine’, started in 2016, gathers people who are professionally involved in or interested in medical communication from the perspective of their research field. You are invited to read about past conferences in the series here.

The Department of Medical Communication at the WUM also co-organises other conferences and events focusing on medical communication.
- Scientifically and practically oriented conference ‘Communication as an indispensable element in the training process of future doctors and pharmacists’, 14 December 2022. - online conference (Zoom platform) co-organised with the Bogomolets National Medical University in Kyiv, Ukraine.
- Hybrid conference ‘Communication in medicine and good patient relations - theory, practice, didactics’, 25 May 2022.
- Seminar ‘Communication in medicine online. Experiences of teaching communication competence at a distance', 7 November 2020. (MS Teams platform)
The meetings of those working in the field of patient communication were received with great enthusiasm. In each edition, there were many interdisciplinary discussions, representatives of many research disciplines exchanged experiences, and talked about good communication and teaching practices in Poland and abroad.

We strive to ensure that there is always space for discussion in the following three areas during the conference:
- scientific and research: bringing together scientists who address problems of communication (medical, social, linguistic) in their work, especially those concerning communication with the patient;
- didactic: comprising presentations by experienced didacticians introducing modern communication competence training standards at Polish medical universities;
- workshops and training: aimed mainly at students, young health care professionals and all those interested in working with patients and their families.
